CARBONDALE – The City of Carbondale’s annual tree lighting will be held Wednesday, Dec. 4, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Town Square Pavilion.

All community members are invited to join the city for this festive time. There will be cookies and hot cocoa to enjoy, make and take crafts, and of course the chance to meet Santa.

After the ceremony the community tree shall be lit every evening at 5 p.m. throughout the holiday season.

The Carbondale Police Department will have a drop-off box at this event for their Coats for Kids Drive. If you wish to spread some warmth this winter, please bring new coats for kids ages 1-10 yrs old.

The city is excited to kick off its holiday events with this special tree lighting. Stay tuned for more info on the city’s Candy Walk, and the biggest event of the year – The Lights Fantastic Parade on Dec. 7.
