MCLEANSBORO – Robert William “Rob” Schuster, age 90, of McLeansboro, IL, passed away Monday, January 20, 2025, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital, McLeansboro, IL.

Rob was born on December 16, 1934, in Hamilton County, IL. He married Jolene (Karcher) Schuster on March 3, 1957, in Belle City, IL. She passed away on June 30, 2008. He was a son of Cornelius Joseph Schuster and Rose (Bond) Schuster.

Rob was a retired mechanic and a member at Hopewell Baptist Church. He enjoyed going on bus trips, gardening and playing with his grandchildren. He served in the U.S. Marines.

Survivors include Kendra (Dave) Collins, Misti (Kris) Halley, Isabella, Elizabeth and Alexavier Halley, Adam (Andrea) Collins, Conner and Hope Collins, Zac (Matthew) Bennett, Leesa (Scott) Schuster, Reegan (Holly) Schuster, and Jolee, Eva, Elsie and Lucy Schuster.

Extra Special Significate other, Dorothy Smith. Dwayne (Adrea) Smith, Wendell and Ransom Smith, Diane (Jay) Todd, Austin and Hayden Todd.

Brothers, Dean Schuster and Dave Schuster; sisters, Jean (Ronnie) Kitchens, Ruth (Bob) Sneed, and Carolyn (Willie) Grubb; and sisters-in-law, Vicki Karcher and Freda Hickman. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. 

Rob was preceded in death by his wife, Jolene (Karcher) Schuster; parents, C.J. and Rose Schuster; a son, Scott Schuster, and siblings, Delores, Chap, Kathryne, Roy.

Visitation for Rob Schuster will be from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, January 24, 2025, at Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro, IL. The funeral service will begin following visitation at noon at the funeral home with Pastor Thad Galloway officiating. Burial will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in McLeansboro.

Memorials may be given to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital and/or Hopewell Church.
