DAHLGREN – Dorothy “Dotty” Mehalek, age 60, and a resident of Dahlgren, IL, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Saint Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Dotty was born on August 11, 1964. She was the daughter of John R. Mehalek and Mary Irene (Rickard) Mehalek. 

Dotty was a member of the Belle Rive Baptist Church. She loved to crochet, do crossword puzzles and spend valuable time with her children, nephews and nieces.

Survivors include her parents, John R. Mehalek and wife Violet of Dahlgren, IL; two sons, Kai Kai Mehalek of Dahlgren, IL, and Mayen Mehalek of Dahlgren, IL. Also surviving is her brother, John A. Mehalek of Dahlgren, IL; and sisters, Turby Edmiston and husband Randy of  Tooele, UT, and Robin Voight of Dahlgren, IL. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Dotty was preceded in death by her grandparents, mother, sister, Margie Wood, and brother, Sonny Cornell.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 12, 2025, from 1 to 2 p.m., at Harre Funeral Home in Dahlgren, IL, with funeral services following at 2 p.m. Pastor Steve Hamson will officiate. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Dahlgren, IL.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to help with services and will be accepted at Harre Funeral Home.
