PADUCAH – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) today resumed a work zone along the U.S. 51 Ohio River “Cairo” Bridge between Wickliffe and Cairo.

Work was paused on Feb. 10 in anticipation of back-to-back winter weather events, starting with flooding and followed by snow. KYTC crews were able to clear the bridge of snow accumulation.

The contractor is replacing deck railing along the bridge, and the project is estimated to last until about March 1, weather permitting.

A temporary traffic signal has been reinstalled.
