BENTON – Ruby Berniece Tindall, age 97, of Benton and formerly of Salem, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Heritage Woods in Benton.
Ruby was born on August 17, 1927, in Mulkeytown, Illinois, the daughter of Alexander and Estella (Furlow) VanZandt. She married Everett A. Tindall on June 14, 1942, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Together they spent 74 years united in marriage until his passing on September 1, 2016.
Survivors include her daughter, Betty Jean Briscall and husband Brian of Kingsport, Tennessee; her son, Everett Dean Tindall of Mt. Vernon; along with eight grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Everett; a daughter, Mary Kathryn Luker; a son, Donald Taylor Tindall; nine siblings; and two grandsons, Mark Luker and Eric Tindall.
Ruby was a homemaker and a member of the Salem Assembly of God Church. She served on the Salem Township Hospital Auxiliary for 14 years, and she was a member of the local senior chorus. She loved her family and many friends, and will be missed by all.
Services for Ruby Tindall will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at the Mulkeytown Christian Church where Ruby attended church as a young girl. Burial will follow at the Mulkeytown Cemetery in Mulkeytown, Illinois.
